In 2012, Chen Ning Yang received a 90th birthday gift in the form of a blackcube inscribed with his 13 most important contributions, which cover four majorareas of physics: statistical mechanics, condensed matter physics, particlephysics and field theory. We briefly describe these 13 contributions and makegeneral comments about Yang's distinctive style as a trailblazing leader inresearch.
